Dr. Judson Shapiro

Dr. Judson Dacher-Shapiro graduated from SUNY Binghamton with honors while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Spanish. After graduation, the US Navy selected him for the Health Professions Scholarship Program, providing a full scholarship to attend the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, which is now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and earned election into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He was then chosen for training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD where he served as the Chief Resident during his final year. During his time in Bethesda, he was also awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal for his contributions to the department and hospital. As a staff surgeon, Dr. Shapiro is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and maintains a membership with the American Dental Association.

Dr. Shapiro is excited to have been able to return to the Northeast, where he grew up playing ice hockey in upstate New York and throughout New England. Since moving to Rhode Island he has enjoyed golfing, running in the beautiful neighborhoods of Newport, and enjoying all the outdoor activities RI has to offer with his wife and their labradoodle Rita.
